Book your place at the VSNW Conference and AGM 2012
27 September 2012
It is as vital as ever that the voluntary and community sector continues to keep up-to-date with the current policy agenda and how it affects our organisations and the people we work with in communities throughout the North West. Given the current environment of challenges and opportunities, the sector needs to develop new routes to influence and ways to work with the new 'state' on a local and national basis.
The State We're In will start with our keynote speaker, Chris Goulden from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. He will be setting the context for the day by looking at the current social and political environment. There will then be the opportunity to attend workshops that discuss the latest developments in areas such as:
- Health
- Localism
- Economy
- Environment
- Children & Young People
- Equalities
There will also be a panel discussion on how the voluntary and community sector works with new and current structures such as local authorities, LEPs and police and crime commissioners. A North West Regional Funders Forum workshop will take place to outline key issues, barriers and opportunities for funding and share regional intelligence on funding and investment options.
Please join us by registering at http://vsnwconference2012.eventbrite.co.uk. When you register, you will be asked to confirm which workshops you would like to attend. The workshops are arranged into five subject areas - localism, health, economy, future of the VCS, and the environment, children & young people and equalities networks. There is one workshop from each subject area in each set of workshops.
