From April 2013 local Healthwatch replaced the Local Involvement Networks (LINks) as the "consumer voice" in health and social care. It is important that local Healthwatch learns from the experience of the LINks to ensure they become the best they can be, and to prevent "reinventing the wheel". The framework sets out plans designed to deliver long term and sustainable benefits in response to the newly emerging needs facing the heritage sector. It plans to:
The first funding decisions under the new framework will take place in April 2013.
They will be running a series of events in the North West later in the year to provide more detailed information on the new programmes and ways of working. Further information will be posted on this in due course.

Healthwatch England was formed in April 2013 and is the independent consumer champion for health and social care in England. They have now published a list of local Healthwatch, including those for the North West
