The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) distributes the heritage share of funds raised by the National Lottery. Since 1994, HLF has invested over £528 million in the North West's heritage through more than 3,150 projects, with awards ranging from hundreds to several million pounds.
They fund an incredible range of projects supporting heritage, learning, conservation and participation. Their goal is to reflect the vibrancy of the many different communities that have shaped the North West's heritage.
They are now seeking to appoint a new committee member. The committee makes decisions on grant between £50,000 and £1 million. The committee also provides a crucial country perspective to the Board on larger grants, on applications within targeted programmes and on the funding priorities for the North West. Members meet people involved in heritage projects, represent HLF at openings and events and act as an advocate for the value of heritage to modern life.
They welcome interest from people with a range of backgrounds and experiences who can demonstrate that they can apply their skills to, and have enthusiasm for, the role. Candidates should be able to demonstrate an affinity for the North West's diverse heritage. For this appointment, candidates are especially sought who have expertise in the natural heritage environment or the charity sector.
Applications are welcome from individuals from black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, from individuals with disabilities and from younger people as we are currently under represented across our committees.
For more infomation, visit www.hlf.org.uk, email decisionmakers@hlf.org.uk or telephone 020 7591 6014. If you would like to find out more about the role, please contact Sara Hilton, Head of HLF North West on 0161 831 0866 or shilton@hlf.org.uk. Closing date for applications is 31st October 2011.
