The Volunteer Centres in Liverpool and Pennine Lancashire will each receive £100,000 over the next three years to help recession-hit communities through supporting volunteering.
The funding is part of a £1.9 million contract awarded by the Big Lottery Fund to Volunteering England to work with 15 volunteering centres nationally to tackle the longer-term effects on communities hardest hit by cutbacks.
