Second wave of National Survey of Charities and Social Enterprises launched
8 September 2010
The Office for Civil Society has launched the second wave of the National Survey of Charities and Social Enterprises (formerly known as the National Survey of Third Sector Organisations), giving charities, social enterprises and voluntary and community groups in every local authority area an opportunity to have their voices heard.
This largest ever survey on the sector was first run in 2008 and over 49,000 organisations responded, giving a wealth of information on the factors supporting organisations’ success, including : opportunities to influence local decisions, the availability and nature of local funding and income, and satisfaction with local support and guidance. This information has helped the sector and local statutory bodies to identify and address key local issues, and improve the local environment in which the sector operates.
This second wave of the survey aims to take these results even further by building an accurate picture of the current environment and assessing the progress made since the first wave of the survey.
The survey is by invitation only. Ipsos-MORI has selected a random sample of 110,000 organisations that have been invited to take part - as such, a response from all sizes and types of organisations is essential to ensure the results build a representative picture of the views of the whole sector, and give information that will carry real weight at the local level. Invited organisations should complete the survey by post or online at www.nscsesurvey.com by the 27 September 2010.
Full results of the second wave will be published in early 2011 at www.nscsesurvey.com
