Having asked public sector staff and the general public, the government is now asking third sector organisations for cost-saving suggestions on how to improve or provide frontline services in new ways.
In an open letter to the sector, Francis Maude, Minister for the Cabinet Office, and Nick Hurd, MInister for Civil Society say those in the sector have a wealth of experience of delivering services on the frontline, and can therefore see what is working well and what can be improved.
In the context of the current and forthcoming programmes of large-scale cuts, contributors may wish to emphasise service improvement and innovation ideas.
