Grants for money advice services from United Utilities Trust Fund
11 May 2010
Third sector organisations that enhance and develop the provision of debt/money advice services in the North West are eligible for grants from the United Utilities Trust Fund.
Charities and other not-for-profit organisations that deliver services within the United Utilities area (which approximates to the North West region) can apply for project funding of up to £60,000. Funded projects can run for up to two years.
All organisations must be able to demonstrate that a project will benefit people who are currently in hardship and who are unable to meet the costs of water and/or sewerage charges provided by United Utilities. The Fund’s trustees are particularly interested in supporting projects that will promote training in personal money management.
All projects must support a ‘deprived community’ – where a significant majority of the residents live in the worst 10 per cent Lower Super Output Areas or wards and/or where there is a high incidence of debt.
The deadline for expressions of interest is 28th May, with fully completed applications required by 9th July 2010.
Small grants of up to £1,500 to pay for training and capital equipment are also available from the Fund. The application deadline for these one-off grants is 4th June 2010.
Contact: United Utilities Trust Fund, c/o Auriga Services Limited, Emmanuel Court, 12-14 Mill Street, Sutton Coldfield B72 1TJ. Tel: 0121 3231 1324.
