Voluntary Sector North West is pleased to announce a new partnership with NCVO’s Third Sector Foresight Team. We will be working together over the next few months to understand how the world is changing and how organisations in our region can use this knowledge to make better strategic decisions.
The partnership will provide:
• New insights about the trends and forces impacting on organisations in our region
• Training workshops for infrastructure organisations
• Free copies of pocket guides exploring changing funding, volunteering, population changes and other crucial topics
For more information about Foresight and the issues it touches on, you can read this article, Facing the Future without Fear.
The training is free but a refundable deposit of £20 will be requested on booking. For more information see the attached booking form. The training will be held at the Gateway Centre in Warrington (click here to download directions).
Voluntary Sector North West is working with Third Sector Foresight at NCVO who lead the change workstream. See www.improvingsupport.org.uk which brings together resources, evidence and good practice to help third sector support organisations. This training was originally developed by the Centre for Charity Effectiveness at Cass Business School.
Two of the six case studies looking into how voluntary organisations can be sustainable are from Blackburn with Darwen. These provide valuable lessons for thinking about the future direction of the sector in public service delivery.
The independent inquiry panel, which included Richard Caulfield, VSNW Chief Executive and which was funded by Public Health England, has published its final report
Regional Voices (of which VSNW is a member) has published the full report from the survey conducted earlier this year about how the voluntary and community sector is engaging with health and wellbeing boards
Please join us on 15th October for an interesting day of debate and discussion on the latest issues affecting the voluntary and community sector in the North West. The day will include a series of workshops and two great keynote speakers. Thanks to Charity Bank for their sponsorship of the conference
