The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) distributes the share of funds raised by the National Lottery earmarked for heritage.
Since 1994, HLF has invested nearly £500 million in the North West’s heritage in more than 2,900 projects, with awards ranging from hundreds to several million pounds. The Committee makes decisions on grants between £50,000 and £1 million and their awards have included support for projects such as: the redevelopment of the Cooperative Museum in Rochdale, a conservation project on the Lakeland Fells involving hundreds of volunteers, and the restoration of the Art Deco Stockport Plaza.
They are now seeking to appoint a new Committee Member, and welcome interest from people with a range of backgrounds and experiences who can demonstrate how their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm can be applied to the role.
Applications are particularly welcome from individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas: delivering capital projects in the cultural sector; learning and community projects, or natural heritage. We would also welcome applications from women, and from people with experience of engaging with black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, as these are at present under-represented on the Committee. Knowledge of Lancashire would also be advantageous.
For more information visit www.hlf.org.uk or email decisionmakers@hlf.org.uk or telephone 020 7591 6014.
Closing date for applications is 7 December 2009.
