Cumbria

Cumbria CVS is a membership organisation providing infrastructure support to the Third Sector across Cumbria. It caters for a wide range of organisations from small community groups to large voluntary organisations, from environmental through to health and care, faith, sport and others, providing a range of information, advice and support. It is governed by a Board of Directors and is managed by a Chief Officer (Karen Bowen), in conjunction with five Area Managers.

There are five locality offices that are the front-line of our service provision and they are based in Kendal (South Lakeland), Penrith (Eden),Maryport (West), Barrow and Carlisle. Cumbria CVS provides a range of services including: advice and information; organisational development; funding advice; business planning; quality assurance; training; volunteering; representation and liaison; loan of equipment; sector development and the promotion of Third Sector organisations across Cumbria.

Cumbria CVS also co-ordinates the Cumbria Third Sector Infrastructure Forum and is the lead and accountable body for Cumbria on the Five Counties Partnership.
