Community Empowerment Practitioners Forum

VSNW and its Community Empowerment Network partners have launched a new Forum for paid practitioners working in the voluntary and community sector supporting local communities, groups and organisations to work together and influence local decision making.

The Forum’s aim is to bring the voice of those working at a local level to the Regional Empowerment Partnership (North West Together We Can). 

In addition, it will provide an opportunity to comment on policy developments which impact on their activities, provide an opportunity to share good practice, learn and exchange knowledge and look at the long term future of community empowerment.

At its first meeting on 23rd April a draft Aims and Structure document was discussed and there were presentations from Carol Latham of Bolton Community Network, and Eve Davidson of North West Together We Can.  Richard Caulfield led a consultation on the Issues and Principles Paper for the new NW Regional Strategy.   Presentations and other papers from the event can be accessed below:
