Lots of good training taking place within Halton. VCS forum has made new appointment and is re-forming. Lots of work with Young People, Including My Space programmed and NCS. Mentoring programme starting.
There has been a lot of post riot talk – feeling that youth sector need to galvanise itself around theses issues.
Manchester Youth Fund provided funding for 50 groups but reduced funding from what they asked for and they are expected to deliver LA priorities. This is around neighborhood and thematic funding.
Wigan
LA is supporting smaller orgs with HR and other issues – this is a work in progress. One concern is how do you keep people up to date with changes?
