"The Spirit Level" - WEA Spring Lecture
14 April 2010 18:30 - 20:45
Mechanics Institute Manchester
Kate Pickett is co-author with Richard Wilkinson of the acclaimed book “The Spirit Level” which demonstrates significant evidence of why countries with high income inequality are worse for everyone. The WEA believes in the role of education in helping individuals and groups deal critically and creatively with their world in order to participate in changing it. This lecture provides you with the startling evidence about why we are all experiencing a “broken Britain” but more importantly it helps us begin the discussion of what we must do to change it.
The lecture takes palce at Manchester Mechanics Institute, 103 Princess Street, Manchester M1 6DD
