Social Enterprise for All: Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic event

Social Enterprise North West in Partnership with The Social Enterprise Coalition will be hosting a half day event designed to inform the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community about the business opportunities and support available to them through social enterprise.
The event includes a host of local and national speakers including an address by Caryl Agard, Executive Director of
The Social Business Company, a social enterprise established as a vehicle to develop and support individuals and
communities, and Chair of Voice 4 Change, the national voice for the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Third Sector.
Workshops will also be available on the day:
1. Are you Investment Ready?
This session would explore some of the issues faced by social enterprises trying to access financial investment to expand their services for the benefit the communities they serve and how to overcome them.
2. Legal structures and making strategic decisions
What is the most appropriate legal form and governance structure for your social enterprise? What are the requirements for good governance in developing a sustainable social enterprise? In this interactive session we will explore these questions.
3.Social Enterprise: Winning with 2012 Olympics - A unique opportunity
This workshop will discuss: How social enterprises can take part in the delivery of the games, what the legacy of the Games will be on BAME communities and experiences of winning Olympic contracts
4. Business Start Up:
This workshop will discuss: What are the barriers to business start up for BAME entrepreneurs
Followed by Lunch, Network and Market Place opportunities.
