Pour yourself a cup of ambition
17 February 2010 - 8 April 2010
Mancheste
‘Pour Yourself a Cup of Ambition’ is a confidence building project is specially design for unemployed lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) people, as there is a clear correlation between unemployment and low confidence. ‘Pour Yourself a Cup of Ambition’ will increase confidence in LGB people so that they can address this issue and become more enabled to engage with mainstream employment and education services.
The course consists of:
- A two day Confidence Building Course: as well as increasing confidence, this course will also increase other relevant skills such as team building and assertiveness, and will be specifically tailored towards increasing confidence and ability to overcome barriers to employment and learning support.
- A follow up day: to enhance and build on the increased confidence participants are expected to experience. The day will explore LGB people’s Rights in the Workplace and the Volunteer Opportunities available at the LGF. At this point in the programme we expect that participants will have had an opportunity to recognise their personal strengths as well as areas they need to concentrate on further. Following theexisting volunteer process, participants will be interviewed for their selected volunteer role, and offered feedback. This will allow them to utilise the confidence and skills they have acquired during the project, and will give them experience of formal interviews.
For more information and to register call Dennis Baldwin on 0161 235 8035 or email training@lgf.org.uk
