Still Living with HIV: Building Today for Tomorrow

George House Trust, the leading HIV community organisation in NW England, has a national HIV social care conference linked to the annual British HIV Association / British Association for Sexual Health and HIV Conference which will be in the same venue.

The Still Living with HIV conference will focus on planning for the future and the changing needs of people living with HIV. It will consider the impact of the recession, the general election, the ageing population; the ongoing effect of HIV related stigma, and positive prevention strategies. Speakers include Titise Kode, Chief Executive Officer of the African HIV Policy Network; Baroness Gould, Chair of the Independent Advisory Group on Sexual Health; Ford Hickson of Sigma Research; Dr Ed Wilkins, Clinicial Director of Infectious Diseases at North Manchester General Hospital; and Michael Carter, Patient Information Editor at NAM.

The Health White Paper Consultation

CONSULTATION FULLY BOOKED

The White Paper on Health has the potential to create one of the biggest changes to the structure and function of the NHS since its creation in 1948. Within the White Paper there are 5 consultations which are all open until early October. Although the ‘what’ in the White Paper has largely been decided, the ‘how’ is very much still being shaped.
