From April 2013 local Healthwatch replaced the Local Involvement Networks (LINks) as the "consumer voice" in health and social care. It is important that local Healthwatch learns from the experience of the LINks to ensure they become the best they can be, and to prevent "reinventing the wheel". TB Alert, the UK's national TB charity, is spearheading the Department of Health's commitment to raise awareness of tuberculosis among the most vulnerable groups. This workshop is part of The Truth About TB programme, to build the capacity of third sector organisations to integrate TB into their work aand become partners of local statutory agencies in the fight against TB - championing the patient voice.
