An interactive online report into tackling worklessness in North West neighbourhoods will be launched on Friday 27 November. It will include a summary of the significant work of third sector organisations and audio commentary from, amongst others, Breakthrough UK and VSNW.

To mark the launch of the report and to provide a platform to share and discuss the way forward for the region’s neighbourhoods there will be a regional worklessness event held by Neighbourhoods NW in association with the National Association for Neighbourhood Management.

On the day the North West Improvement and Efficiency Partnership, who commissioned this report, will give the partnership perspective on this agenda, while GONW will highlight regional and national trends. The report’s author, Professor Alan Harding, will introduce the key findings and there will opportunities to attend workshops with some of the featured projects. The event will also see Job Centre Plus provide their perspective and include a Q&A session to give delegates a chance to discuss the issues raised.

The report will be available online as an interactive pdf including sound-bites and clips from 27 November, however delegates attending on the day will get to take away a disc containing the interactive report, clips and videos and copies of the key case studies.

This promises to be a challenging and inspiring event that sees the region come together to really tackle the important issue of worklessness in neighbourhoods head on.
