E-safety and youth arts

14 October 2010 10:00 - 16:15

The Cornerhouse, Manchester

This one-day course is essential training for anyone using or looking to use the internet, computers and other media technologies when working with young people in the arts. It will provide participants with an understanding and relevant resources to ensure that the young people they are working with can make informed decisions within digital environments.

This course raises awareness of digital footprint and examines e-safety, current legislation and the risks involved when working with new technology, including media production and social networking on the web. The course will inform participants how to incorporate e-safety into their Child Protection Policy and embed the knowledge into their organisation or project. Participants will learn about Acceptable Use Policies and will examine mobile media devices and managing personal media devices.

The cost of training has therefore been reduced to £75* (normal training charges vary from £110-£150) which includes all training resources, lunch, refreshments and certification.

For more information on the course and to book a place, please contact The Artsplan Team, on artsplan@artswork.org.uk or call 02380 682 535. To subscribe to the English National Youth Arts Network visit www.enyan.co.uk
