Good governance: developing better governance in voluntary and community organisations

This half-day conference will address key issues in developing effective governance on voluntary sector boards and management committees.
Erin McFeely, Head of Regional Policy and Development at ACEVO North, will deliver the keynote presentation on the key features of good governance, which will also cover the Code of Good Governance. There will be a choice of workshops – on topics such as measuring board effectiveness, risk assessment, and the relationship between chair and chief officer – providing participants with the opportunity to learn and debate.
There will also be small discussion groups, a local case study and a Q&A session.
The event will close with lunch and networking.
Target audience: New and established chairs and trustees of VCS organisations, managers involved in improving the governance of their organisations and staff with responsibility for advising trustees.
