Workforce
The regional coordination of development work on Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) learning, skills and workforce development is a new area of focussed activity for VSNW. Whilst the work had been progressed over recent years as an element of wider sector development, a new dedicated post was recently funded by the Learning and Skills Council.
The Regional VCS Workforce & Skills Coordinator's focus in the initial phase of activity is in the following areas:
- Regional VCS Learning, Skills & Workforce Development Network
- Development Plan for a Regional VCS Learning, Skills & Workforce Development Strategy
- Engagement of Health & Social Care VCS Employers in their Sector Skills Councils
- A regional policy conference to support dialogue between the VCS and our public sector partners involved in learning, skills & workforce development.
North West SPV
The North West Third Sector SPV Ltd is open for membership applications from Thursday 1 July 2010. The SPV is an independent organisation, set up by VSNW in partnership with the infrastructure members of the North West Learning & Skills Network, which aims to enable the VCS in the region to tender for large-scale learning, skills and employability contracts on a regional basis. Quality Improvement for ESF programmes

Machinery of Government Changes
